Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer Get Married

My celebrity crush continues. Two of my favorite people in the whole world married on Sunday. Congratulations to Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer. I wish you both utter happiness.

The Prince Poppycock Variety Hour

Prince Poppycock is wonderful. He has the voice of an opera singer, the likability factor of Fuzzy Fuzzy Cute Cute and costumes that would make Liberace wet himself. The term “male Lady Gaga” doesn’t cut-it. Poppycock doesn’t need to be compared to anyone or anything. He is Prince Poppycock!! Enough said!

I am very sad that Prince Poppycock didn’t win America’s Got Talent, but I see nothing but love and success for him in the future. I’m sure he could get a show in Vegas without the AGT backing. No doubt.

What I’d really like to see, however, is The Prince Poppycock Variety Hour on Logo TV. Can you imagine if you gave this guy an hour to just got to town like Sonny & Cher? Magnificence. Pure entertainment.  I love me some RuPaul’s Drag Race, but a Prince Poppycock show would be insane.

Spread the word people. Poppycock needs his own variety tv show!

Through the Night – Buddy Cops to the Max

Watch out Shine on Me.  We got another stellar music video on the scene.

Monster High – New Mattel Marketing Ploy

So… remember back in the day when American Greeting cards came up with this character called Strawberry Shortcake and then launched this massive merchandising campaign around her? Toys, cartoon, clothes, etc.? Yeah. I think I just stumble over the latest one. My niece and nephew haven’t latched onto this yet, but this sucker is the new thing. I’m calling it now. Emo/goth kids clothes. Count Chocula like cereals. On and on.  And I kind of don’t hate it. It’s like Teen Wolf for the Nickelodeon generation.

Check out Monster High.

Shine on Me – Most Magical Music Video Ever?

Holy SHIT! You have to check this out. Labyrinth David Bowie might actually wet himself from pure awe and envy of this video. This is a contender for the new “Total Eclipse of the Heart – Literal Version”.  For real.  Watch it. Forward it. Make this video go viral.

T-Rex Hoodie

This would be a lot cooler if the fabric didn’t look so chintzy. This is the cheap stuff they make kids’ jammies out of at Wal-Mart.  Too bad. Cute concept.

Star Wars Subway Improv

Check this out. Very Cute.

Yoda GPS

I’ve been debating buying a GPS unit ever since someone pointed out to me that I should  get a GPS.  It’s one of those things where you never ever thought about it, and the second someone says you should get one you’re all about it. My navigation style up to this point really just involves printing out MapQuest directions and having a lot of them on the floor of my car.

Anyhoodles…

If you get a TomTom you can get Yoda to navigate for you.  Funny. Don’t how useful it would be for me though.

Evelyn Evelyn – First Listen

Generally I like to listen to an album several times over before I really let out an opinion, but since I ordered tickets to see this show when it comes to town I figure I better at least jot down some initial thoughts. Listened to Evelyn Evelyn once through in the car on Friday night.

Holy crap is this some twisted inventive stuff! Really out there, but interesting. It’s like David Lynch meets Tim Burton meets P.T. Barnum meets David Bowie meets that kid that sings both girl and boy parts of songs on YouTube.  There’s songs mixed in with spoken word about these Siamese twins, but it’s set in 80′s/90′s so there’s references to things like Terminator 2 and MySpace. Funny and dark at the same time.

I don’t know what a live show of this will look like, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be memorable.

Halloween with Neil

The American Gods anniversary party at The House on the Rock is officially on. Reservations have been made. I know this is HIGH geekitude even for me but I am psyched. I’m going to a Halloween party this year with ultra goth nerds and Neil Gaiman, in one of the weirdest freakiest places in the U.S. AWESOME!
